Teach yourself guitar books?

I want to teach myself guitar, and I’ve heard that the books usually are helpful.
What is the best teach yourself guitar book, and do they really work instead of taking lessons?
I know a lot of celebrities have said that they’ve worked for them, so I want to try it.

What are good books/websites that will teach me the guitar?

So I just bought a guitar and was wondering if there are any brilliant books/websites that can teach me beginners stuff.

I’m not looking for tabs, but actual notes and stuff. Also, I want to know exactly how to hold a guitar, where to strum, etc.

Thanks

How much are piano & guitar sheet music books, a guitar slider, and a piano chair all cost?

How do you play the guitar parts in books labelled with “piano/vocal/guitar”?

I just bought a music book for my girlfriend because I thought it would be fun for us to play music together (her on the piano, and me on the guitar).

But, I don’t know how am I suppose to play the guitar part from the book…

I see the chords on top of the staves, but does that mean, for guitar, they only expect you to do strumming with chords?

So how do you play the guitar part in these kind of music books?
A perfect example is the song “Here come the sun” by the Beatles.

Like it has that small de-da-da-duh part..

like it doesn’t show how to play it in the book, as in there is no stave for guitar…
so I just play the chords?

Books for learning to play guitar?

I’ve recently gotten more free time on my hands. One thing I’ve regretted is never learning an insturment. I want to start playing guitar. Are there any beginners books that anyone would recommend? (I’m looking to learn the basics myself, then progress to actual lessons) also im 25, is that too ancient to pick up an instrument and become proffecient?

Guitar books for lesons?

I was wondering if anyone knew any brilliant books on how t learn electric guitar. Teaching myself isn’t going soo fantastic.
If you have any links that would also be fantastic.
