Author: i want to learn to play but my husband wont let me take lessons . he tells me to just get a book. so which one is better? i am having a hard time trying to convince him to let me do the lessons! help!

Is there a book or technique to help guitar hero players learn real guitar?
i heard there was a book on it. i am avid at guitar hero, so i have at least some left hand dexterity, which would help with a real guitar.
what is a good ‘learn guitar’ book for intermediate players?
im ok at guitar, but i want to learn chords, how to read the weird music sheets, stuctures, scales, arpeggios, anything that can make me a better player.

Is it better learn to play the guitar from a book or should I get lessons?
I have been working on playing my guitar for awhile now, and I have been learning from a book. It has helped me alot, but I want to know if it would be more affective if I got guitar lessons, or are they both brilliant? What would you do?
