i am makeing my own guitar and would like build in some kind of effects is there any simple and cheap way to do this i would like some kind of distortion of maybe delay. if not how do you make an effects pedal?

This is a follow up to an earlier question about using my computer to record directly from my guitar. Someone mentioned using a “multi-effects unit, with all the effects and amp simulators”.

Is a multi-effects unit what I need to be able to connect my huge guitar jack into the computer?

If so, what are some well loved manufacturers and models for such a product?

Now I reckon I know. I already have a multi-effects pedal. I’ll connect the guitar to that then the pedal to the computer and I’ll start with the volume low.

on the amp that i own, there are 2 holes; 1 says INPUT and the other has a small pic of a Speaker!

are there any guitar effects used in take me out by franz ferdinand? it kind of sounds like it but i’m not sure which effects?

Ever since I got my Peavey electric guitar I have always wanted to use effects. But my amp only has Overdrive. Is there any way to ad effects to the amp without buying a new one???

And also, how do you connect it to your guitar, do you need another cable?

I’m getting ready to take up lessons again, and I’m in no position to be buying pedals or soundboards or anything, but I’m wondering what to use to get a country sound like that of Dierks Bentley or Keith Urban. I’m not saying that because I “reckon they’re hot” or just wanna be just like them. Their music has helped me through some really rough times this year, and its so soothing to play their melodies. Any input on tools (less expensive is better, I’m getting ready to buy a car, then off to college in 2 years) would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
