Prince 20TEN, 360° Record Deals, Beginner Guitar Lessons

www.andrewwasson.com – Prince has chose that his new album will be released in CD format only in Britain’s the Mirror Newspaper. There’ll be no downloads anywhere in the world because of his ongoing battles against the internet. – A subscriber to my site sent me an article that discusses the benefits of something called a 360 degree record deal this week — after reading it — I nearly wondered if Warner Brothers didn’t write the thing themselves! QUESTION OF THE WEEK Q: Andrew, I am a beginner guitarist and I’ve had somewhat of a terrible start. My first teacher didn’t teach me a thing. He would just sit there telling me how cool his band was and how they had all of these fantastic gigs. I didn’t even take out my guitar once! He questioned me to buy a book, but we never even opened it in class. This can’t be typical; can you clarify how you started and what your early experiences were? Also, is there a brilliant modern study method you’d recommend? Karen — Los Angeles, CA. How do I connect my guitar (and pedal effects) to a PC computer (Windows, not a Mac) to record?

This is a follow up to an earlier question about using my computer to record directly from my guitar. Someone mentioned using a “multi-effects unit, with all the effects and amp simulators”.

Is a multi-effects unit what I need to be able to connect my huge guitar jack into the computer?

If so, what are some well loved manufacturers and models for such a product?
Thanks.

Now I reckon I know. I already have a multi-effects pedal. I’ll connect the guitar to that then the pedal to the computer and I’ll start with the volume low.

Mario Parodi – Guitar [1917-1970] AGAP FIXED SOUND FROM THIS VERY OLD RECORD [COMPILATION]

[Article about Mario Parodi, specially written for Guitarraldia.com.ar Por el Dr Carlos Rubén Gómez] San Nicolás, 27 de octubre de 2005. “A Surprising Discovery” “Enough time has passed so that among the many vinyl records I came across the Romantic Guitar played by Mario Parodi. Without being able to fully recover from such surprise and with fantastic care and attention I place on the plate of my turntable. Fulminant Lightning avazalló me immediately and I was stunned to hear the gorgeous notes and flooded my soul sprang a pleasant feeling of aesthetic beauty. I remembered my negative thoughts and an apology from my lips looked furtively. There it was, the same Mario Parodi, for recording was so genuine and vivid that even the whisper of his breathing could be heard subtly …… In the middle of the eighties I was giving guitar lessons the father of a neurologist friend. My student showed me a notebook in which they were, among other works, the like of Liszt’s Dream, a work that sought to teach him. I expressed my reservations of the case, he thought at the time, the monumental piano work would be greatly reduced on the guitar. Furthermore, when we started to see a transcript I found devilishly hard. Of course neither I nor my students, we go beyond the early stages. This was how I made contact with guitarist Mario Parodi, then, the author of transcripts. I got to thinking that maybe never even had touched them, like so many “pseudo-transcribers” that make simple money
