Well someone from crappy band like children of bodom isnt a suprise of playing incorrect..
What ever, I just reckon that this is a pit limited style, if you just use 3 of your fingers insted of like some of the most talented use nearly all theyr fingers from both hands..
look at roope from children of bodom he taps like that and he is incredible guitar, look at marty friedman’s picking hand, they do things in different ways and im pretty sure that they don’t have any problems.
How would you play chromatic scales for example if you learn to play even this kinda stuff with that kinda fingering? The most vital thing in guitar playing is to learn to use all of your fingers, this guy isnt, so he shouldnt be teaching anyone.
So you mean, playing guitar in a position that in time will cause a problems with your arm for example is not the “incorrect way”?
Besides, I agree that you can use different technics and fingerings, the way you feel best, but this fingering here is just like I said idiotic. Besides of it lookin retarded, it´s unpractical and may make it harder to learn some other stuff later when you´ve done the mistake not to use all your fingers in practical way.
your stupid man, there is no incorrect way to play the guitar, there are only different styles.

Why use ring finger to play that C note? Complitely stupid, The small finger is much more practical and also more right. Yeah it can be hard to use probably the weakest finger you got in playing, but you better get used to it from the beginning.
Learning this tapping part with this fingering is not helping you become brilliant, all though it might feel simpler to play it that way.. Just a tip, this guy is probably the worst teachers ever..

how come i cant keep it on beat? like its supposed to be 12-8-5 then i go too quick and start doing 12 5 8 5 kinda thing… i guess i need more practice
